What is Nuheart?
Nuheart is the generic version of the medication Heartgard. It contains the exact same ingredients recommended by vets worldwide for the prevention of heartworms in dogs.

This medication should not be given to animals that are allergic to the medication. Before this medication is given to your dog your veterinarian should perform heartworm testing. This medication should not be given to puppies under 2 weeks old.
Directions For Use:
|Dogs: (2 weeks and older)||Up to 25 lbs||1 monthly dose - blue pack|
|26 - 50 lbs||1 monthly dose - green pack|
|51 - 100 lbs||1 monthly dose - red pack|
What happens if your dog misses a dose?
If your dog happens to miss a dose give it to your dog as soon as you remember unless it is close to the next scheduled dose. Do not give your dog a double dose of this medication to catch up for missed doses. If your dog misses more than two doses make sure you contact your veterinarian before giving the next dose to your dog.
What happens if I overdose the pet?
Seek emergency medical attention from a veterinary clinic as soon as possible. Some symptoms of overdose include but are not limited to diarrhea, in-coordination in dogs, and vomiting.
What other drugs will effect Nuheart?
Do not give this medication to your dog if they are already taking another heartworm medication.
What to avoid when giving your pet Nuheart medication?
It is possible for hookworms to be passed from pet to human and therefore its very important to maintain good personal hygiene. It is also important to eliminate all fleas on your pet and to not feed your pet uncooked fish, meat, or rodents.
