SENTINEL SPECTRUM, (with Milbemycin oxime, Lufenuron and Praziquantel) is a monthly oral preventive that guards against heartworms, adult roundworms, adult hookworms and whipworms, and prevents the development of flea eggs for dogs or puppies that are 6 weeks of age or older. SENTINEL SPECTRUM differs from Sentinel only in that it also contains Praziquantel which addresses tapeworms.
There are four tablet strengths in color-coded packs (Orange, Green,Yellow and Blue) depending upon the dog’s weight. SENTINEL SPECTRUM must be given at monthly intervals, preferably on the same date starting within 1 month of the beginning of the transmission season and continuing until 1 dose after its end. Where heartworm transmission is not seasonal SENTINEL SPECTRUM is given throughout the year. One Tasty Chew once a month with a FULL MEAL. Most dogs will take a Tasty Chew from your hand but if this is not the case, try hiding the chew in their food.
Lufenuron has been tested safely in dogs, including pregnant females, breeding males and females and puppies. Do not give SENTINEL SPECTRUM to your pet if already giving an alternate heartworm medication. It is recommended that dogs be tested prior to beginning any new heartworm medication protocol.
SENTINEL SPECTRUM does NOT kill adult fleas. If your pet has an existing flea condition, concurrent use of insecticides may be necessary for adequate control of adult fleas. Comfortis (with Spinosad) may be a good choice as it only kills adult fleas and would be an appropriate compliment to SENTINEL SPECTRUM and it’s active ingredients.
