What is Revolution?
Revolution is a safe topical medication used for your cats and dogs to protect them from fleas, heartworms, and ear mites. In additional
it also will protect cats from hookworms and roundworms and dogs from sarcoptic mange and ticks. The medication comes in packs of 3, 6, and 12.
(ex: a 3 Pack will equal 3 doses which lasts 3 months)
Dogs (6 weeks of age or older with no weight restrictions)
Cats (8 weeks of age or older with no weight restrictions)

How It Works:
Revolution medication works on pets by penetrating the skin and entering the bloodstream. Having the active ingredient Selamectin in the bloodstream helps prevent heartworm disease. Selamectin also redistributes from the bloodstream to the skin of your pet to help kill adult fleas, ear mites, and American dog ticks. This medication is also a anthelmintic which means that it will expel and fight parasitic worms.
Revolution is safe to be used on pets that are lactating or are pregnant.
Side effects occur in less than 1% of pets that have this medication. A side effect that may affect 1% of pets that use this medication is an upset digestive system.
It is advised to avoid the use of this medication on pets that are underweight or are sick.
Herding dog breeds and collies may have a reaction to the active ingredient selamectin if given over the recommended dose. If your dog is a collie or herding dog and this medication was prescribed by your vet make sure to monitor your dog for the following symptoms for 8 hours after the treatment. If you notice any of these symptoms call your vet right away: weakness, dilated pupils, drooling, weakness, staggering, or pressing her or his head against the wall.
What happens if your pet misses a dose?
If your pet happens to miss a dose give it to your pet as soon as you remember unless it is close to the next scheduled dose. Do not give your pet a double dose of this medication to catch up for missed doses.
What happens if I overdose the pet?
Seek emergency medical attention from a veterinary clinic as soon as possible. Some symptoms of overdose include but are not limited to salivation and in-coordination.
What should I discuss with my vet before applying Revolution on my pet?
Tell your veterinarian if your pet has ever had an allergic reaction to the medication.
What are the possible side effects of Revolution?
- Rapid Breathing
- Muscle tremors
- Loss of appetite
- Temporary hair loss (at application of medication)
- Increased heart rate
What medications may interact with Revolution?
Do not give your pet Revolution if your pet is already on any other heartworm medications. When switching from one heartworm medication to another make sure to wait until the next scheduled dose of heartworm medication is due for application.
