What is Advantage Multi?
Advantage Multi is a topical application that is given to your dog once a month that has a combination of parasiticide (moxidectin) and insecticide (imidacloprid). This product is used to prevent heartworms and treat and control whipworms, flea infestations, hookworms, and roundworms.

How It Works:
The active ingredient moxidectin is used for the prevention and control of heartworms and intestinal worms by disrupting nerve transmission resulting in the paralysis and death of the parasite. The active ingredient imidacloprid, acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death.
Avoid giving this medication to pregnant, breeding, or lactating dogs as the safety of this medication in these certain cases has not yet been established. Side effects are rare but sometimes sensitivities may occur when you give this product to your pet. If the signs persist or get worse please consult a veterinarian immediately.
What happens if your dog misses a dose?
If your dog happens to miss a dose give it to your dog as soon as you remember unless it is close to the next scheduled dose. Do not give your dog a double dose of this medication to catch up for missed doses.

Seek emergency medical attention from a veterinary clinic as soon as possible.
What other drugs will effect Advantage Multi Brand?
Do not give this medication to your dog if they are already taking another heartworm medication.
What are possible side effects of using Advantage Multi?
Side effects are rare using Advantage Multi if following the recommended heartworm prevention dose. However in higher doses in dogs the side effects may include loss of weight, dilated pupils, tremors, and possibly death.
What to avoid when giving your pet Advantage Multi medication?
It is possible for hookworms to be passed from pet to human and therefore its very important to maintain good personal hygiene. It is also important to eliminate all fleas on your pet and to not feed your pet uncooked fish, meat, or rodents.
